Bloc Loc rulers feature one or more grooves. These grooves ensure that the ruler is fixed on the seam of the fabric piece to be cut. In some types of rulers, strips/shapes are cut from a fabric with multiple strips. Due to the groove, the ruler lies straight and stable. Most, however, are based on cutting patchwork shapes. First the patchwork pieces are cut and stitched together - then the ruler is used to cut the patchwork block exactly to size (occ. with seam allowance).
